As a Technical Business Analyst at Open Box, you will join our Cape Town team and work with clients across the United States and United Kingdom, with the potential for occasional travel to client sites. This is a varied, client-facing role where you will translate open-ended business problems into practical technology solutions; running workshops, shaping requirements, designing solutions and staying close to delivery. You will work with end users, technical teams and senior stakeholders alike, and you will be equally comfortable in a requirements session, a solution design discussion or a conversation with a client executive.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and articulate technology solutions to complex, open-ended business problems

  • Gather requirements and design solutions, including facilitating client workshops

  • Compile project artifacts such as user requirement specifications and project definitions

  • Lead process re-engineering and product selection initiatives

  • Support change management to ensure solutions are adopted and sustained

  • Develop business cases, statements of work and pricing quotes

  • Manage the development team or support the project manager through delivery

  • Build and grow client relationships, representing Open Box within client environments

  • Develop new business streams within existing client accounts

  • Present at industry events and conferences, building expertise in commercial real estate processes and practices (both US & EU)

Job requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelors level degree, ideally in engineering, accounting or an IT-related field

  • 5–7 years' relevant experience in a software consulting capacity

  • Experience across the full software development lifecycle

  • Competent understanding of database design and SQL

  • Good understanding of accounting and financial processes

  • Excellent communication skills at both C-suite and operational levels, with the ability to translate technical jargon into plain business language

  • Proven track record of problem-solving, working both independently and as part of a team

  • ERP experience (such as MRI or Yardi), including implementations, integrations, upgrades and enhancements, is highly beneficial

  • Knowledge of the commercial real estate industry is beneficial
